There are a few ways to make sure you know what is going on in and out of the classroom with your students: 

1. This website is current and up to date with all the valuable information you need.

2. Charms(see "links" for web address) I will send out important emails and texts from this website. Just click to login, and make sure you click the "Parent" option.

The Password: This will be your student ID the first time you login. After that, it will prompt you to change your password.
Your student ID will be given to you once everyone has ben input into the system.

Band Fees

 It is very costly to run a successful competitive band program. Our booster organization does a fantastic job of helping out with fundraising to provide services that the band requires on a regular basis, such as paying for repairs, buying new music, transportation, and recording concerts. Sometimes, however, it is impossible to raise all of the money needed, so each student is asked to reimburse the boosters a portion of the cost for the individual student incurred throughout the year.


Expense breakdown for the 2017-2018 school year.

 

6th Grade Beginning Band

Total: $11.00 or $21.00 for all students (see below).

 

Breakdown:

$6.00-Band T-Shirt.

$5.00-Solo/Ensemble Fee-includes payment for judges and a medal for distinguished    ratings.

$10.00-Essential Elements Band Book (Only if book was not purchased with instrument).

****6th graders are required to participate in solo and ensemble.

 

7th Grade Intermediate Band

Total: $21.00 for all students (see below).

 

Breakdown:

$6.00-Band T-Shirt.

$5.00-Solo/Ensemble Fee-includes payment for judges and a medal for distinguished    ratings.

$10.00-Essential Elements Band Book II.

****7th graders are required to participate in solo and ensemble.

 

8th Grade Advanced Band

Total: $18.00 for all students (see below).


Breakdown:

$6.00 - Band T-Shirt.

$10.00 - Foundations for Superior Performance Book.

$2.00 - Transportation Fee.


Percussion Section (7th and 8th grade)

Total: $8.00 or $40.00 for all students (see below).

 

Breakdown:

$6.00 - Band T-Shirt.

$32.00 - Fresh Approach Books ( Mallets: $15.00, Snare: $17.00)-only if students do not own this book.

$2.00 - Transportation Fee

 

*******Students who are playing on a school owned instrument (Percussion, Tuba, euphonium, trombone, horn, oboe) will owe an additional $50.00 fee. This fee is to pay for general repair and maintenance of the school instruments throughout the year.

 

    This fee can be paid in 2 installments of $25.00/Semester

Installment 1: Due October 6, 2017

  Installment 2: Due February 2, 2018

 

*Money should never be a determining factor in anyone participating. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to participate can do so.!!

 

Making Payments

 *Payments must be placed in the gray “Hart” box in the band room.

 *We accept Cash or Check. Checks should be made out to “Desoto Central Middle School Band.”

 *Payments must be sealed in an envelope with the following information on the front:

 Last Name, First Name

 Payment For:

 Amount Included:

 Type of Payment: (Check or Cash)
