About the Teacher

Education and Experience:

Hello! My name is Traci Pickett and I am thrilled to be your child’s 6th grade English teacher. I graduated from Desoto Central High in 2010. Once a Jag, always a Jag! I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi (HOTTY TODDY) in Multidisciplinary Studies with endorsements in English and History. I have worked for Desoto County Schools for nine years.

Personal Info:

I recently got married to my husband, Zach, in September 2023. We have a precious puppy named Piper. I love spending time with family and friends. I am a proud aunt to seven precious souls and enjoy every second spent with them. In my free time I enjoy reading, shopping, running, and crafting. Coffee and nutritional teas are my favorite. To say I am passionate about educating and helping students succeed, would be an understatement. As a teacher I want my students to take pride in their work and themselves. It brings me joy to watch them grow and gain the confidence they need in the upcoming years. If we work as a team, it will help ensure that your child has the most successful year possible. It is my goal for your child to love reading and writing if they do not already. Please feel free to contact me by using the contact link above. Looking forward to a wonderful year with each one of you! As always, it is a great day to be a jag!
