About the Teacher
Hello & Welcome to the Jungle, Jaguars!
My name is Miss AG Welch, but you can call me "Miss Juice," and I am so excited to be apart of the DCS family! I am a Jackson, MS native, where I attended Madison County Public Schools from grades K-12. In May 2020, I graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors' Degree in Special Education, as well as an endorsement in English. This is my third year teaching, and I can't wait to get to know my scholars & parents. I taught 7th grade for 2 years; I'm pumped to be with the 8th graders for year 3!
My love for Special Education and its population blossomed in 2013 at Camp Bratton-Green in Canton, MS when I attended a week-long, sleep-away camp. After spending the week with children, adolescents, and older adults with varying abilities, I quickly discovered that working in this field was my passion. I have had years of experience and exposure to this community of learners, and I will make it my personal goal everyday to bridge the gap for all students.
Whenever I am not in the classroom, you can find Miss Welch at a music festival or live show, local thrift store, hanging out with her boyfriend, Mr. Zachary, or behind the front desk at Orangetheory Fitness Olive Branch. Fun fact: I used to be an underground, zip-line tour guide in Louisville, Kentucky!
