Education

I received my Masters in Music Education from the University of Memphis in 2018 and a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from Murray State University in 2012. I graduated with honors-Summa Cum Laude. I am a National Board Certified Teacher.

Experience

I am currently in my 9th year of teaching and my 8th year at DCMS! I began my teaching career with student teaching in 2012. I am originally from Kentucky, and did my student teaching at Paducah Middle School. I then began teaching private music lessons for all instruments around the states of Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. I spent my first year as a Music Educator in Paragould, Arkansas. I was the Middle School Band Director, and assistant to the high school. Every day I taught about 480 students from grades 7-12. While at Paragould, I taught beginning band, 8th grade band, high school jazz band, high school marching band, and assisted with the winter drumline. I was also heavily involved with an after school private lessons program for all students in the program.
